Blake Johnson’s 2019 Annual Letter

Blake Johnson’s 2019 Annual Letter

Dear friends,

2018 was a landmark year for our organization. However, the tides are changing in the increasingly complex world of philanthropy. To many, this will strike fear; for the rest of us, we see an opportunity to make things better sooner than we think.

With last year’s contributions to The Webb Schools, The Museum of Contemporary Arts, The Go Campaign, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Calvary Christian School, CCS Foundation, International Justice Mission, and the Big Brothers / Big Sisters of America, we have been able to create incremental impact in our “core four” in the advancement of education, arts, sciences and social well-being.

However, even during these great experiences I personally heard quiet concerns of looming economic crises which could impact these organizations’ survival, with lasting effects that would be felt by thousands of families and community members.

There is no underestimating the impact the global community has on responsible giving. But these are the adverse situations that bring about the brightest minds and the best ideas that innovate the way we can help those in far more adverse situations. We are optimistic, and that is an understatement.

In coming months, The Blake Johnson Alliance website will have contributors providing resources and opinions on such innovations. Technology, sentiments, and values are changing at compounding speeds, and instead of working against them, we will work alongside them.

In order to meet our mission and provide services in our community, we rely on the generosity of time from individuals, businesses and advisors who assist us in our contribution of responsible and monthly proceeds to organizations who share our vision. We look forward to another incredible year of making an impact on the world.

With the deepest of gratitude, thank you.

-Blake
